Mahmoud Saleh Elhalik, MD, Ph.D., NRP RT
Dr. Mahmoud graduated from, Egypt/Alexandria in 1983, and then got Diploma of Child Health (DCH) from
Ireland followed by Arab Board of Medical Specializations in Pediatrics. He is also International Board
Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Regional Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Instructor,
International Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and Member of the European Society for
Neonatology (ESN) and Emirates Medical Association (EMA),
Dr. Elhalik is currently head of Pediatric Department and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Latifa Hospital in
addition to his post as the Head of the Healthcare Informatics Unit.
Dr. Elhalik is also a tutor of Pediatrics and Neonatology in Dubai Residency Program. Moreover, he is chairing
and co-chairing different hospital committees such as the “NICU Infection Control Task Force”, Antibiotics
Stewardship committee, Disaster Steering committee and Baby Friendly Hospital Working Group.
Dr. Mahmoud has over 20 years of experience in Perinatal-Neonatal medicine, with special interest in Neonatal
Nutrition, Neonatal Sepsis, Quality Improvement Projects in NICU and Neonatal Resuscitation.
Having many Publications and Member of editorial boards of many Journals (Pediatrics & Neonatal).
He is the Project Initiator and Director of “DNER” -Dubai Neonatal Electronic Registry- (1 st of its kind in the
Arab world countries) launched from Latifa Hospital in 2014 as the first phase toward the National Neonatal
Electronic Registry of UAE. Recently name changed to Dubai Neonatal Network “DNN”.
